Moron's Hobby Update 10/17: Salamanders Commision

I made some progress on my Salamanders Commision, as well as the results of using ArmyPainter Quickshade for the first time. I love it!
It looks like I’ll be able to finish these marines in just one week (even have some time to spare).
The first ten marines got the dip treatment Monday, and testors dullcoat tuesday. All that is left is simple basing.
Monday and Tuesday I painted the basic colors on the other ten marines. They are ready for a dip tonight, dullcoat and base thursday. Then Friday I give the marines back to their owner, in which we will immediately play a game. His painted salamanders vs my unpainted Dark Angels. (I’ll get to them, but customer first)
I put up pics of both squads so you can see the difference the dip makes. Before=simple paintjob that is too bright and looks like crap. After=shading, darker overall tones, and it looks great.
So, excluding drying time, ten marines takes me 4 hrs with this process.

After this commission, I have a lot of catching up to do on my Lizardmen for fantasy, so expect that to come soon.
